Split-image focus

I brought my 35mm camera along when I was visiting family on Wolfe Island in August. I used my phone to record through the viewfinder because I loved the look, including the little prism in the center of the frame that splits the image to indicate what’s in focus. The result ends up looking nothing like a picture the camera would take or like a video the phone would take, but it resembles idealized memories of the place it captures.

Something went wrong with the first roll of film and the camera couldn’t wind it internally so I lost some pictures when I took it out to wind it manually. Here are some of the pictures I took with Portra 400.
